A division bench of the Lahore High Court here on Monday adjourned the hearing in a petition challenging appointment of Rana Zahid Mehmood as director general NAB-Punjab as a law officer sought time for filing reply. Earlier, a deputy attorney general Naseem Kahsmiri appeared before the bench and contended that the law officer, earlier, appearing before the court had been transferred to Peshawar and bench deferred proceedings accordingly to April 28.
Petitioner Shah Faisal Qureshi submitted that appointment of respondent Zahid was made on contract in violation of rules and regulations and hence liable to be declared null and void. The petitioner said that the respondent was removed as judge Lahore High Court following a landmark judgement of the apex court on a petition of Sindh High Court Bar Association.
