All arrangements have been finalised by the district administration for the official procurement of the wheat from growers in the district. In this regard focal persons have been nominated for the all, 11 procurement centres in the district and monitoring teams have also been finalised on Tehsil level for ensuring the organised and transparent purchase of the wheat.
The gunny bags/bardana would start distributing among the wheat growers from today (Wednesday) under the government policies and directions, and token would be issued to the wheat growers according to the revenue record for collecting the bardana. A meeting was held here under the chairmanship of DCO Naseem Sadiq to review the final arrangements of the wheat procurement campaign. He directed the monitoring committees and focal persons to supervise the procurement centres, and growers would be provided with all out facilities at centres.
He directed that only genuine growers should be entertained in this regard and proper discipline should also be ensured at the centres besides ensuring the presence of staff of revenue, labour, market committee and food departments. He warned that any negligence and laxity would not be tolerated and corrupt staff would be dealt with iron hand.
