Thousands of trade union workers gathered outside Bakhtiar Labour Hall, here on Tuesday, under the aegis of 'Pakistan Workers Federation' and paid homage to the services of their late leader Bashir Ahmed Bakhtiar on the eve of his 18th death anniversary.
Khurshed Ahmed, General Secretary and a living legend of workers of Pakistan, Chaudhry Talib Nawaz President Pakistan Workers Federation and other leaders gathered from all over Pakistan to pay tributes to Pakistan's foremost labour leader. I.A Rehman, Secretary General Human Rights, Former President Pakistan Federation of Union of Journalists, I.A.H Rashid also participated in the function.
While appreciating services of the late labour leader, labourers castigated authorities for unending high inflation in the country. They warned the government of a revolution like Tunisia, Egypt in the country. They demanded stern action against those involved in fake degrees, waiving of loans worth rupees 250 billions to certain influential, persons involved in Hajj scam and perpetrators of drone attacks. The meeting demanded government to do something worthwhile in maintaining law and order in the country especially Karachi and Balochistan. Secretary General of Pakistan Workers Federation said that labourers of Pakistan are strong enough to save the country from 'leeches' and would do anything to uplift its image.
