Karachi Police during last three days have issued promotion orders of a large number of Police Constables (PCs), Head constables (HCs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs). It was learnt that the Sindh Finance Department had permitted the Karachi police to create 505 vacancies of Sub Inspectors (SIs).
Later, the CCPO Karachi, Saud Mirza called the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) on 18th April and approved promotion orders of 505 ASIs as sub-inspector. Along with CCPO Karachi, Saud Mirz, DIG (Admin) Sardar Abdul Majid Dasti, ADIG (Establishment) Malik Altaf sarwar Aiwan and others attended the meeting.
The CCPO called meetings of DPC on 19th and on 20th April to approve promotion orders of 564 HSc as ASIs and 539 PCs as HCs. It is believed that these massive promotions would help the Karachi police to improve its efficiency to fight crime.
