Commander 5 Corps, Lieutenant General Zahirul Islam, visited DHA educational institutions on Friday to view various educational, infrastructural and sports facilities available in these institutions for grooming and training the students who constitute the future leadership of the country.
Administrator DHA, Brigadier Aamer Raza Qureshi, accompanied the corps commander and briefed him about the various facets of DHA Educational System. The corps commander said that the purpose of education was to produce confident and dynamic individuals who could succeed in every field of life and contribute positively to the society.
He said that the academic and co-curricular activities and facilities available at DHA schools and colleges should be organised, maintained and utilised in an optimum manner for best mental grooming and wholesome development of students' personality.
The corps commander added that the stature and status of an educational institution is determined by its academic performance. He advised the Principals to exclusively devote all their energies towards achieving academic excellence and highest standards of education in their institutions. He said this could be achieved through a dedicated and highly qualified faculty and through efficient management of available educational resources.
He later visited the newly built campus of Defence Authority College For Women in DHA Phase-VII (Extension). The corps commander appreciated the team of extremely competent teaching and non-teaching staff engaged in maintaining dynamic learning environment at the campus and said that the College had the potential of becoming a leading university of the country and to emerge on national educational canvas.
He asked DHA to start preparatory work for launching a state-of-the-art university to impart high quality postgraduate studies in various disciplines of pure sciences, social sciences, technology, arts and literature etc. DHA intends to upgrade its various campuses to university level.-PR
