Islamabad Police have arrested three alleged notorious bootleggers and recovered 28 wine bottles from them while nine gamblers were also nabbed during raid at various points in Faizabad, a police spokesman said here on Sunday.
According to details, Sub-Inspector Ahmed Kamal from Industrial area police station nabbed an accused Zulfiqar Ali from sector I-8/3 for having 10 wine bottles. On a tip off, police team headed by Sub-Inspector Ahmed Kamal reached there when two wine suppliers Waqar and Saghar were about to leave the place after supplying wine to Zulfiqar Ali. Police overpowered Zulfiqar Ali while wine suppliers told to be the son of alleged notorious wine seller Malik Javed managed to escape after seeing police team, police spokesman added.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Ahmed Usman from Margallah police station arrested two bootleggers Walayat and Ahmed Ali for having 18 wine bottles.
Meanwhile, Industrial area police team raided at the gambling points in Faizabad and arrested nine persons besides recovering computer and fax machine from them.
The nabbed persons were identified as Naveed Ali s/o Ismail Shah, Muhammad Khalil s/o Muhammad Hafeez, Khalid Mehmud s/o Abdul Khaliq, Aashiq Hussain s/o Talib Hussain, Mumtaz Ali s/o Muhamamd Ayub, Ameen s/o Muhammad Hussain, Naveed s/o Abdul Waheed, Shehzad s/o Mehmud and Usman.
