Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) is worried on the prolonged outage of electricity, Sui gas and law & order situation in the country, which is badly hampering economic environment.
The Managing Committee PAAPAM took stock of the whole situation in its meeting chaired by Syed Nabeel Hashmi, Vice Chairman here on Sunday.
The participants expressed their concern on declining trend in the sale of automotives in the aftermath of Japan disaster and imposition of 17 percent Sale Tax particularly on Tractors, which has pushed the industry on the brink of closure.
The committee was also perturbed on unwarranted harassment by Investigation & Prosecution Branch, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation FBR and lodging FIR against its certain members on the issue of fake sale tax invoices.
The committee demanded that Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation FBR, be restrained from taking any action leaving the matter entirely with respective RTOs to make recovery if any and FIR No 04/2011 dated 26.03.2011 be held in abeyance, in the meantime.
Hashmi requested Federal as well as Provincial Governments for resolving the energy crisis and other industry related issues on priority basis for avoiding further unrest in the country.
