Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is passing through the most critical phase of its history and facing challenges of terrorism and extremism. He said that the objective of national progress and development couldn't be achieved without elimination of terrorism.
He said that there is a dire need for national harmony and brotherhood and the situation demands that the nation should gather at a single platform and foil the nefarious designs of anti-Pakistan elements. He was talking to a delegation of Ulema led by Mohtmim Jamia Naeemia Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi, here on Tuesday. The delegation also included Mufti Intikhab and Maulana Tajwar Naeemi.
The Chief Minister said that enemy is bent upon destabilising Pakistan and terrorism has not only destroyed civic peace but also left a negative impact on national economy. He said that strengthening of security is essential for investment and promotion of trade and industrial activities. He said that there is a need for sinking petty differences and forging unity for ensuring peace and progress of the country.
He said that Ulema and Mashaikh have always played an effective role for the promotion of religious harmony and tolerance and their responsibilities have further increased in the present situation. The leader of the delegation Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi assured that Ulema will spare no efforts for foiling the evil designs of the enemy and restoring peace in the society and they will continue to extend all out co-operation for the maintenance of law and order in the society.
