A division bench of the Lahore High Court here on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a bail petition of Muhammad Maalick, manager of Moonis Elahi, involved in National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam. Earlier when the bench resumed hearing, a special prosecutor said that a banking court had dismissed bail petition of PML-Q leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi in the same case and he would challenged that order before the LHC.
The prosecutor suggested the court to link the petition of Maalick with Moonis so that matter could be decided on same grounds. At this the bench headed by Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry postponed hearing observing that it will be appropriate to wait for the petition of Moonis Elahi. FIA accused Muhammad Maalick and others of misappropriating NICL's Rs 420 million funds on account of land purchase.
