Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday inaugurated an Integrated Health Centre at Bhara Kahu to provide best possible medical facilities to the rural population. The Prime Minister also announced Rs 10 million for the centre, which has been upgraded from a rural health centre.
The 25-bed upgraded health centre will provide all basic health facilities to the locals of surrounding areas upto Murree, including ambulance service, dentists, blood tests, mother and child health service. The centre has been jointly upgraded by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and turned into a modern health facility.
Prime Minister Gilani announced the affiliation of health centre with the PIMS. He said that the development during three years of his government was unprecedented as he prioritised all constituencies without discrimination. He also inaugurated the district office of Pakistan Baitul Mal in Bhara Kahu and directed its Chairman Zamurrad Khan to especially support the deserving people living below the poverty line. He also asked him to set up an orphanage under the name of Pakistan Sweet Home and accommodate the local orphans and those belonging to the families affected by terrorism. He said natural gas had already been provided to the Bhara Kahu locals while a district headquarters hospital would be established there soon.
