The judicial remand of former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi was extended till May 5 for eight days by the civil judge here on Wednesday in Hajj corruption case. Civil Judge Rai Liqat Kharral resumed hearing of the case and directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to complete chalan within the given days and submit it on next date of hearing.
Naimat Ali, an FIA officer, sought more time to complete investigations into the case. During the previous hearing, Kazmi had contended in the bail application that the FIA had so far failed to bring any concrete evidence to prove his alleged involvement in the Hajj corruption case as he could not be kept in jail for longer time without initiation of trial against him.
