11,400 tons of wheat procured in Multan

Around 11,400 tons wheat has been procured at 16 purchase centres in Multan district till May 1, Food officials said on Monday. Passco officials said they had issued gunny bags and expect arrival of wheat at their centres at Lodhran and Kehror Pakka from Tuesday.
Passco Multan's Zonal Manager Captain (Retd) Ijaz said they had been given a procurement target of 150,000 ton and arrival of wheat from growers was expected from Tuesday. Multan food department officials said they had procured 11,400 ton wheat so far and achieve the target of 199,000 ton. The procurement process at 16 centres in Multan district began on April 28. Some 632,510 gunny bags had been issued to farmers, they added.
