Slow trading was seen on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday as main participants were conspicuous by their absence, dealers said. On the cereal side wheat old Bardan and new both types gave up overnight gains, losing Rs 10 to Rs 2380-2395. Gur low type maintained overnight level at Rs 6000 while the good type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 7000, dealers said.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh, low type maintained overnight level at Rs 3400 and best type gained Rs 50 to Rs 3500, other varieties held the overnight levels during the day, they said. On the seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh moved both ways, low type shed Rs 15 to Rs 1325, the good variety, however, picked up Rs 20 to Rs 1400, they said. Prices did not fluctuate on the grams sector due to balanced demand and supply position, they said.
