Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has stressed the need for taking concrete and efficient measures to protect the future generations from thalassemia like fatal blood diseases and said, "indeed care is the best way to avoid difficulties of treatment and there can never be second opinion about importance of promoting awareness in this respect".
He was addressing as chief guest at a prestigious ceremony held at Governor House, Peshawar on Saturday, which was arranged jointly by two volunteer organisations; the Frontier Foundation Welfare Trust Hospital Services and the Hamza Foundation Welfare Hospital and Blood Services in connection with the World Thalassemia Day being observed on May 8. The ceremony was attended by sponsors, office bearers and workers of both the organisations, besides the suffering children and their parents.
A renowned star of Film Industry, Ajab Gul also spoke on this occasion, besides the heads and medical experts of both the organisations highlighted the importance of the role and services of the philanthropists in minimising the miseries and difficulties of the people suffering because of the blood diseases.
Barrister Masood Kausar said that the clue to success of the developed nations lies in population welfare and the state of the focus; their citizens have been receiving in respect of their health care and educational nourishment as well as freedom of socio-economic and political development of the respective societies.
Islam, the Governor said, is the best source of inspiration and guidance in this respect too, which also offers opportunities for research and advocacy. Welcoming the guests, the Governor also announced to arrange a special session with the children, suffering from blood diseases at Governor's House shortly who would also be encouraged amicably. Referring to the certain points raised by Sahibzada Mohammad Haleem and Ejaz Ali, chairmen of Frontier and Hamza foundations, respectively, the Governor said, he is quite conscious both of the fatal consequences of the blood diseases, saying he would spare no efforts in extending due patronage in this respect.
