Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the spinelessness of the rulers against the US threats had brought disgrace and ignominy to the country and the nation, and it was time the masses should stand up against these 'US slaves.'
Addressing a Hurmat-e-Quran Conference at the Quran Auditorium under the aegis of the Tanzeem-e-Islami here on Sunday, he said the rulers had not been successful in earning Washington's pleasure in spite of losing lives of thousands of innocent people and destruction of the country's economy in the US war and Washington was now threatening to attack this country.
The Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, former judge Nazir Ahmed Ghazi and Tanzeem-e-Islami chief Hafiz Aakif Saeed also addressed the moot.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the rulers were feeling proud of US slavery even after the humiliation of the armed forces and the nation due to Abbotabad operation were actually selling our national honour.
He further said that the nation expected a bold stand from the military leadership after the Corps Commanders Conference but the generals too had disappointed the nation.
The JI chief said that the US had entered this region to wage a war against Pakistan, as Pakistan's solidarity and its nuclear arsenal were the actual US targets. He said that Pervez Musharraf and President Zardari had trampled upon the nation's aspirations by trying to please the US in every manner but the US remained adamant.
