Constant load-shedding has put public life in misery with the rise in mercury across the country. Power shortfall during the last 24 hours reached 3,000MW with electricity generation static at 12,999MW against the rising demand of 15,994MW.
Especially hot spell of weather has added fuel to the fire, switching air conditioners on in urban cities. Long hours of load-shedding have put public life at halt, especially in the commercial areas. Industrial sectors are also facing worst-ever load-shedding. As many as 130 spinning units are closed down in the textile sector, followed by large number of units in other sectors. Meanwhile, power generation through hydel, thermal, IPPs and RPPs stood at 4,768MW, 1,791MW, 6,373MW and 67MW respectively. Supply to KESC remained 730MW during last 24 hours.
