The Lahore High Court(LHC) here on Monday issued notice for May 26 to inspector general (IG) of Punjab police in a petition which complains that heirs of cops killed in GPO Chowk blast have not been given jobs in police department. The petitioner Muhammad Akram Butt submitted that IGP had announced to give jobs to family members of those police officials who lost their lives in blast at GPO Chowk in January 2008.
Neither the jobs were provided nor financial help was extended to the victim of GPO Chowk blast families. He therefore, prayed to the court to direct the Punjab IGP to give jobs to the heirs of the cops who were killed in the blast.
