LHC moved against food street on green belts

A petition has been filed in Lahore High Court against setting up of food street after removing green belt in Shad Bagh scheme-II. Former naib nazim Hafiz Moein Ahmad through his counsel Muhammad Azhar Siddique filed the petition. The petitioner said Parks and Horticulture Authority had removed green belt in the area in sheer violation of superior court's orders.
He says the government or PHA has no authority to change the nature of parks and green belts. He prayed to the court to set aside the order of setting up Food Street and restore green belt.
