LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Friday sought implementation report on its orders for installation of CCTV cameras in government schools and posting of two policemen in every bus of hearing-impaired children.
The Chief Justice passed the orders while hearing a petition filed by Syed Miqdad Mehdi against a torture incident on special children in school bus of Government Special Education Centre, Sambrial, district Sialkot.
As the proceedings began, Secretary Special Education appeared before the court on being summoned and submitted that after the torture incident, inquiry was launched against the principal and concerned staff and they had been suspended.
He said that a monitoring cell had been established to check the torture on the children, where action was being taken on complaints.
At this, the court observed that a helpline should be established to provide information regarding education of special children and complaint registration.
The court adjourned the further hearing till December 22 and sought implementation report on its orders earlier given in the case.
