While appreciating the parliament's joint resolution, speakers belonging to various religious parties at Istehkam-e-Pakistan rally demanded of the government to end strategic relations with the US, downing the drones and cutting off Nato supplies.
The participants were carrying flags adorned with Kalima Tayyaba and placards and banners inscribed with writings against the US and Abbotabad operation that led to the assassination of al Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden. Participants also chanted slogans against the US, India and Israel.
Ameer Jamat-ud-Dawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed warned that if the unanimous resolution was not implemented, people from across the country would take to the streets. He termed Abbotabad operation worst terrorism and Osama bin Laden as martyr.
He underlined the need of unity among religious and political parties to convey strong message to the US and India. He said that there was no reason to worry about martyrdom of Osama as such incidents would further strengthen the Muslims and pave way for victory. JuD leader Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki urged the rulers to revisit foreign policy, make public secrete agreements with the US and come out of the war on terror.
Secretary General Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan Qari Zawar Bahadar said that the enemies were hatching conspiracies against the country. He said that the US was responsible for all terrorist activities in the country.
Diafa-e-Pakistan Forum leader Maulana Ameer Hamza said that the nation would taught a lesson to the US and India if they tried to attack the country. Referring to the Indian demand of handing over Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, he said that the rulers should also demand custody of Ball Thakrey and Colonel Prohat, the persons responsible for the killing of thousands of innocent Muslims.
JUI-F Maulana Amjad Khan said that the rulers failed to implement the previous resolution of the parliament that encouraged the US to carry out operation in Abbotabad. Stressing upon revising foreign policy, he said that Pakistan was natural ally of Mujahideen and not the US.
