As mercury jumped to 48 degree Celsius at Noor Pur Thal in Punjab on Sunday, Met Office predicted severe heat wave conditions in most parts of the country during next few days. In its weather advisory, Met office said a severe heat wave has developed over southern parts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan that gripped most parts of the country on Sunday.
The severe heat wave conditions are expected to prevail for 4 to 5 days in the country. It said the day temperatures are expected to increase 5-7 0C in most of the plain areas. Highest day temperatures may reach up to 50 0C in some parts of southern Punjab, Upper Sindh and Eastern Balochistan. In Islamabad, the mercury level may reach 41 0C during coming few days.
The temperatures of northern areas are also expected to increase during this weekend that would trigger good snowmelt during next 5-6 days. For Monday, the Met office has also predicted hot weather with dust raising winds in Interior Sindh.
Meanwhile weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country on Sunday , Met office recorded highest maximum temperature 48. degree Celsius at Noorpur Thal in Pakistan followed by Nawabshah and Dadu 46 C, Larkana, Jacobabad, Rohri 45 C, Padidan 44.5 C Sukkur 44 C Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas 43 C, Bahawalpur 44.5 C, Bhakkar 45.5 C, D.G. Khan 45.7 C, Joharabad 45.0 C, Jhang, Lahore 44 C , Mianwali, Sargodha, Dalbandin, Naokkundi and Sibbi44.2 C.
