Don't malign judiciary if verdict isn't in your favour: CJP Nisar
Criticizing those who have been speaking against the judiciary, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar said on Saturday that if a decision is issued against anyone, do not abuse the judiciary by saying that it has become a part of a design or a grand plan.
While addressing a seminar in Lahore, Justice Nisar targeted those who were besmirching the judiciary for giving judgments that were allegedly unfavorable. Referring to the judiciary using the analogy of a baba (village elder), he said: "The judiciary is your baba..do not doubt its integrity." He further said that the judiciary is the baba, whose advice everyone seeks and should not be doubted.
SC disqualifies Jahangir Tareen, saves Imran Khan
He added that the decisions were made by them independently and that the judiciary is working independently without any pressure. The people who were criticizing the judiciary for verdicts should read the verdict first, he said.
On Friday, the Supreme Court had announced its verdict in favor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in disqualification petition filed against him by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. The apex court, however, had disqualified party secretary general Jahangir Khan Tareen.
