Despite the passage of more than three months, the Sindh government has yet to notify placement orders of 118 successful candidates of Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) examination. The candidates had appeared in the test conducted by SPSC for Deputy District Officers Revenue (DDOs), Section Officers (SOs), Assistant Registrars of Co-operative Housing Societies and District Food Controllers (DFOs), well-placed sources informed Business Recorder, here on Wednesday.
Only ten successful candidates have received placement orders as Labour Officers and Assistant Directors. Remaining candidates are still awaiting official notification. In 2008, the Sindh government had assigned the SPSC to conduct written tests and interviews for the posts of DDOs (Revenue), SOs, DFCs, Labour Officers, Assistant Directors (Labour department) and Assistant Registrars of Co-operative Housing Societies.
In March 2009, the SPSC conducted written test and announced the results in April 2010. Later, the SPSC officials conducted interviews of 300 successful candidates from June 14 to August 28, 2010. Final result was announced on January 26, 2011, according to which 128 candidates were selected for 128 different posts.
"We will issue placement orders only after receiving the summary of approval from the Chief Minister House," an official of General Administration department said, who wanted not to be named. One of the successful candidates said that considering the government lack of interest, he was not sure whether he would receive placement order. When contacted, Chief Secretary Sindh Abdul Subhan Memon expressed complete ignorance regarding the matter.
