Pakistan Post has issued Commemorative Postage Stamps for denomination of eight rupees to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China and to celebrate 2011 as the year of Sino-Pakistan friendship.
Federal Minister for Postal Services, Sardar Muhammad Umar Gorgaij told APP here on Saturday that each commemorative stamp depicts the pictures of the presidents and prime ministers of both countries. "The background of each stamp shows the crescent and flags of both China and Pakistan" he informed. The commemorative Postage Stamps alongwith First Day of issue covers and leaflets are available for sale from Saturday at all main Post Offices in the country.
The minister termed the visit of Prime Minister Gilani to China as historical and said this would certainly open a new chapter in China-Pakistan relations under the new international environment and historical conditions. He said that China has always firmly supported Pakistan's efforts to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and added it has also sincerely and selflessly helped Pakistan to achieve economic and social goals.
