HRW wheat bids mostly steady

Hard red winter wheat basis bids were mostly steady on Tuesday amid slow movement and rainy weather conditions, dealers in the US Plains, dealers said. A bid in Salina, Kansas improved by 5 cents, but bids were steady elsewhere. Weather conditions were closely monitored as early harvest started in Oklahoma and Texas, dealers said.
A weather forecast for the central and southern Plains region called for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the northern and eastern areas of the region.
The moisture was expected to aide in easing stress on the developing wheat, the forecast said. Harvest in Kansas was still likely around three weeks tto a month away, dealers said KCBT wheat was called to open 3 to 5 cents per bushel lower led by a softer US dollar. Chicago Board of Trade wheat called to open 5-6 cents lower on light export demand.
