Business Recorder the premier financial newspaper of the country deserves commendation for bringing together stakeholders of our financial system and highlighting the importance of Stock Exchanges to our economy. I believe that in the current tough economic conditions when not only the interest rates are high but also there is limited availability of funding in the banking system, the Stock market is the only viable option for corporations looking to expand & start new ventures.
Also I believe that positive media projection may be the appropriate catalyst for increasing financial literacy & much needed investors' confidence in our market. I urge all the stakeholders of our financial system ie Exchanges, Regulators, Financial Institutions & Media to join forces to highlight benefits of Stock Exchange and support all efforts no matter how small in this regard. I would also like to urge all the stakeholders to come up with innovative solutions for resolving problems plaguing our markets.
