Educationists at seminar have underscored the need of equipping young generation with modern technology and know-how to face growing challenges in future and called for provision of extra-co-curriculum activities to express youth their talent and aptitude.
The seminar was held under auspices of Islami Nizamat-e-Taleem, a education organisation here on Tuesday at Peshawar press club. Mirajuddin Khan, JI naib Ameer and Director Iqra school system was chief guest on the occasion. The keynote speakers were included Hayat Khan, Director Islami Nizamat-e-Taleem, joint director, Tariq Mehmood Zubari. A debate competition was also held on the occasion among top nine position holders, qualified in the first round of declamation contest organised under the organisation in different districts of the province.
In the competition, Asad Ali Shah, a grade six student from Qaid-e-Azam Model School, district Dir, stood first, Abdullah of Taleem-e-Quran education system obtained second, while Mohammad Arif from Deh Bahadar Model School secured third position.
Speaking on the occasion, Mirajuddin Khan said that the youth have the potential to face challenges in future, saying that there needs to provide opportunity to express their unborn ability. He advised the students to equip themselves from Islamic and modern know-how to lead the world. He appraised the efforts for Islami Nizamate Taleem for arranging such a constructive and creative activity for future leaders, saying that the platform is helpful to nurture unity and brotherhood among youth.
JI naib Ameer criticised the ANP government for diverting different education board funds to Bacha Khan Education Trust. He said the amount had allocated for scholarships to provision of education to talented and deserving students. He objected that the policy was tantamount to deprive poor and needy students from education facility.
The provincial government had promoted divided education system by imposing party base policies in all sectors, including education, he criticised. He called for introduction of uniform and equal education system in Khyber Pakhtunkwa.
Hadayat Khan, Director Islami Nizamat Taleem, in his welcome speech stressed the need of promoting of extra co-curriculum activities in educational institutions. He informed his organisation had arranged debate competition at district level through, which selected top nine position holders for final round.
He said the basic purpose was to provide a platform to young generation to express their aptitude and ability. "We will continue our struggle to promote such creative and constructive activities for young in academic institutions, he said. Tariq Mehmood, Joint Director also spoke on the occasion and explained the aims and objectives of the institute. Later, chief guest, Mirajuddin distributed shields among position holders and consolation prizes among runner up students.
