DHA vigilance staff on receipt of information of dacoits having attacked the house of a DHA resident acted swiftly and apprehended three dacoits in a bold encounter. Cash, valuable items and weapons were also recovered from the dacoits.
According to the details, a frantic call by a desperate resident of House No 51/I, Khayaban-e-Ittehad, Phase-VII, DHA was received in DHA vigilance's control room early in the morning on Monday, (June 20) seeking help as the house was under attack by the dangerous dacoits. The ever-ready DHA Vigilance Mobile within no time rushed to the scene for help of the hapless resident.
When the DHA Vigilance's Mobile reached the scene the dacoits after looting the resident on gun point were fleeing from the house. DHA vigilance guards in a rare act of courage and boldness stopped the dacoits and an encounter ensued. The vigilance guards challenged the dacoits and fearlessly pounced upon them; after a dramatic fight they managed to physically over power the three fleeing dacoits.
The episode ended with recovery of valuable items from the dacoits including one kilo gold, one laptop, three pistols, three mobiles and a cash of Rs 70,000. The dacoits along with the recovered items and cash were later handed over to the Gizri Police Station.
Administrator DHA Brigadier Aamer Raza Qureshi appreciated the courage, boldness and dedication of vigilance guards. He said that DHA vigilance in co-ordination with police was committed to provide secure and peaceful living environment to the residents.-PR
