An increase in mercury has added to the miseries of people amid rising load shedding in the country. Power generation during last 24 hours stood at 14277MW against a demand of 17388MW, leaving the system with a shortfall of 3111MW. The hydel, thermal, IPPs and RPPs generated 5084MW, 2051MW, 7017MW and 125MW respectively with 720MW supply to the KESC out of Pepco system.
Load shedding duration has reached to 10 to 14 hours in urban and rural areas respectively. The mercury had decreased last week with rainy weather, followed by lowering temperature.
