Chairman National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Muhammad Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon said that NAVTTC would fully facilitate Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) for imparting technical training of readymade garments to unskilled workforce. NAVTTC would take it as a model project for readymade garments industry.
He said this while talking to three-member delegation of PRGMEA led by Ijaz A Khokhar, Chairman Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association, says a press release issued here on Thursday. The Chairman said that PRGMEA has already been running Pakistan Readymade Garments Technical Training Institutes (PRGTTI) one each at Karachi and Lahore for Male and Female workforce under joint venture with Ministry of Textile Industry.
PRGTTI Karachi has so far produced 10,000 while 7,000 of the workforce have been passed out of PRGTTI Lahore for readymade garments industry. Now the PRGMEA has chalked out its plan to establish another PRGTTI at Sialkot with self funding. This new training institute will cover the young jobless workforce of 2,900 villages around Sambrial, Daska, Wazirabad and Pasroor of Sialkot region.-PR
