Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) parliamentarians in Punjab are in a fix over the row between its top leadership and the PML-N, as they helped passed the provincial budget 2011-12 by the PML-N government. Majority of the PPP lawmakers in Punjab Assembly avoided responding to a query that how they could support a party in Punjab assembly, whose law minister has dubbed PPP Co-chairman a 'corrupt Jiyala'.
The PPP Punjab leadership avoided to make a comment on it and advised to contact Raja Riaz, party's opposition leader in the Punjab. The cell phone of Raja Riaz was switched off as usual. President Asif Ali Zardari and the PML-N mainstream leadership started mudslinging against each other. Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah has called co-chairman PPP as corrupt Jiyala. Also, another female PPP member of Punjab Assembly has disclosed that Rana Sanaullah has threatened to kill her in case she continued criticising him.
Member of Provincial Assembly, Faiza Malik said the PML-N was trying to sabotage the democratic process but they would not let it happen. Therefore, they had supported the budget in the Punjab Assembly. She further said that the PPP was not in favour of promoting politics of turncoats, therefore, it has supported the PML-N in Punjab on passage of budget 2011-12. She said the PPP also understand the severity of situation, therefore, the PPP would not lose support of the masses in the province of Punjab.
