Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday directed Pakistan's envoys to focus their energies for promotion of Pakistan's trade, economic and political interests and pro-actively work for enhancing the overall image of the country abroad.
He was talking to Pakistan's Ambassadors and High Commissioners designate; Muhammad Naeem Khan to Saudi Arabia, Amjad Hussain B. Sial to Tajikistan and Syed Hassan Javed to Singapore here at the PM House. The Prime Minister termed Pakistan's relations with Saudi Arabia as vital and asked the Ambassadors designate for effective measures for further strengthening of those multi-faceted ties through enhanced high level exchanges and regular interaction between the two countries.
The Prime Minister underlined the important role of Singapore for Pakistan's bid in becoming a full dialogue partner with the Asean and directed the High Commissioner designate to put in every effort for registering Singapore's support for Pakistan's case.
The PM, recalling his recent visit to Tajikistan, said it was the gateway for Pakistan to Central Asia and his government attached highest importance to strengthening of its trade, economic and investment ties with those Republics.
The PM also directed the envoys designate to pay special attention to the welfare and well being of Pakistani community in their respective country of accreditation. He assured them of his government's complete support for carrying out their duties and in ensuring the consistency in the trade and investment policies to help them attract foreign investment in the country.
