Out of 11 radiators, seven were removed in October and four in December last year, informed sources revealed. These radiators were imported from China and Germany weighing 250 kg each.
Assistant Mechanical Eng. Loco Shed Rana Amanullah and five others lodged an FIR of theft. However, after an inquiry the FIA arrested them and registered a case against them. Sources said that Railway Police was fully involved in the theft, but the FIA arrested only railway officials. However, now FIA has started investigation against the 12 police constables, although they have not been taken into custody. No high-ups of the police was under investigation, they added.
Initially, former chairman Railways Raja Muhammad Shahid constituted a four-member fact finding committee headed by Deputy Chief Engineer, Carriage Factory to probe the theft.
