2017 was the year of smartphones. From Apple’s iPhone X to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8, from Google’s Pixel 2 to Huawei’s Mate 10, with OnePlus 5T to Nokia 8, the year had exceptional phones from numerous smartphone manufacturers. Every phone was unique in its own way. However, here’s a short list of smartphones that gained popularity.

Apple iPhone X

Apple celebrated its 10th anniversary by introducing the highly anticipated iPhone X. The phone created so much hype and was immediately popular among people even before its launch. The phone was sold amazingly even though it came in with a hefty price tag of $999 for 64GB and $1,149 for 256GB.

Differing from the usual iPhone designs, iPhone X came in with a unique edge-to-edge bezel-less and no home button design with facial recognition. Dual camera, wireless charging, Animojis, dust and water resistant, glass back, the phone has it all.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Samsung too, introduced its new flagship series marking itself closer to Apple. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 was among the devices that immediately captured the audience.

Galaxy Note 8 came in with Infinity Display that led to the phone earn higher rankings. With 6GB RAM, S Pen, dual cameras, Bixby assistant, wireless and fast charging the phone made great profit. However, Galaxy Note 8 too came in as an expensive one costing around $930 to $960.

Google Pixel 2 XL/Pixel 2

Google’s smartphones too successfully took over the markets with its amazing features. Both, Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 made their place in the markets. The phones are priced at $849 and $649 respectively.

The phones feature large displays, most modern Snapdragon 835 processor, powered by Android Oreo 8.0, 4GB RAM, single 12MP camera, massive battery life, Google’s latest Assistant features, dual front stereo speakers and much more.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei, is known for its remarkable phones. Competing with the two greatest smartphone manufacturers, Apple and Samsung, Huawei launched its Mate 10 Pro that immediately gained high ratings. The phone is priced at $699.

Similar to Google’s Pixel 2, Mate 10 Pro too, has a large display with Android 8.0 Oreo. However, the phone has dual rear cameras and a massive 4,000mAh battery life. The phone also allows connecting a monitor, keyboard and mouse for a complete desktop experience.

Apple iPhone 8/8 Plus

Released alongside iPhone X, Apple’s iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are similar to the previous iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but comes in with glass back and wireless charging support. The iPhone 8 is priced at $699 for 64GB and $849 for 256GB, whereas, iPhone 8 Plus costs $749 and $949.

The phones have an improved camera, improved processor, and improved LCD display as compared to iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Though they have stereo speakers, the handsets do not come in with headphone jack.

Essential Phone

Essential Phone too made it to top charts. The phone comes in with comparatively low price tag of $499.

Large bezel-less display with a unique top notch, latest Snapdragon 835 processor, dual cameras, 4GB RAM, and good 3,040mAh battery, the phone has an attractive design with ceramic back and titanium sides.

OnePlus 5T

OnePlus 5T is another one of the best flagship of around $499 for 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, and $559 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

OnePlus 5T features face unlock system, dual 20MP and 16MP rear cameras, unibody aluminum shell  with a comfortable form factor, and a 3,300mAh respectable battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus

Similar to the Note 8, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus made it to the top lists as well costing $750 and $850 respectively.

Samsung’s Infinity Display gives a pleasing look to the phone with everything from the side shifted to the back of the phone. Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus contain similar features to the Note 8 except for the S Pen.

LG V30

The phone is a remarkable blend of power and performance. Priced at $800, LG V30 is the best V-series phone and LG’s best released in years.

The phone has great dual rear cameras along with improved software for taking amazing still photos and videos. Latest processor, 4GB RAM, dust and water resistant, 3,300mAh battery, the phone is also built to survive military drop tests.

HTC U11

HTC U11 can be ranked as one of the nest smartphones for music. Though the phone does not feature bezel-less screen of headphone jack, the phone is still considered as an eye-catching one.

HTC U11 comes with an impressive single rear camera, water resistance quality, better audio, 3,000mAh battery, and squeezable edge. The phone gives an amazing audio experience with dual speakers and a built-in USonic headset. Different unique colors of the phone make it stand out too. The phone costs $649.
