Korean Consul General In Ki Lee hosted a reception at his residence recently for the Korean ambassador and Sindh Assembly parliamentarians and businessmen, who visited Korea earlier this month. Lee hoped that the visit would help strengthen ties between the two countries, as during its stay the delegation had also attended the Korean investors conference in which delegations from 29 countries including Pakistan participated.
Korean Ambassador Choong Joo Choi in his address said he always felt reinvigorated whenever he visited Karachi as he could see it was a dynamic and vibrant city. The Korean envoy who had accompanied the Pakistani delegation visiting Korea said they held a lot of important and useful interactions with different Korean corporations and hoped that more progress would be made in this regard.
He said the Sindh Assembly parliamentarians had shown by words and deeds that they wanted further co-operation between Pakistani and Korean businessmen and would produce outstanding results by their commitment and hard work.
Addressing the media, he said he was very pleased that the media had played a primary role in furthering friendship and goodwill to Korea and its people. However, he added there was a need for rectifying the weakest link that was deficit of knowledge about each other in both countries, as we know very little about each other.
Vice Chairman Zubair Motiwala in his speech said he would like to acknowledge the Korean ambassador's efforts in making the trip of their delegation a resounding success. He said Korea would soon enter the selected list of eight countries that have a trade turnover of more than $1,000 billion.-PR
