According to the results of a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 74 percent of Pakistanis stated that summer this time around was definitely hotter than last year.
In a survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked the following question: "Do you think the heat has increased, decreased or is still the same compared to last year?" 74 percent people said that it was definitely hotter and the heat had increased this year.
A mere 7 percent disagreed and said that the heat had decreased this year. A noticeable 19 percent said that there was no difference and it was same as last year. Previous data indicates that every time the question has been posed during the last ten years, since the turn of the century, the answer is the same.
Apparently when the weather turns uncomfortably hot, many people say, 'It has never ever been so hot'. It is an interesting manner of expression, and hence the data should be interpreted in that light.
