The Hong Kong-based airline, Cathay Pacific, on Thursday donated Rs two million to Karachi Relief Trust and Al Umeed Rural School Project in a move to help the Flood effected victims of Pakistan. The cheques were handed over by Feroze Jamall, Country Manager, Cathay Pacific Airways to the respective charities. Rs 1,000,000 (Rupees one million) was handed over to Karachi Relief Trust.
This amount will be used to construct 10 new homes for the flood victims. Another cheque of Rs 1,000,000 (Rupees one million) was handed to Al Umeed Rural School Project. This amount will be utilised for the Rural School Building Project and purchase of material for their ongoing flood relief projects.
Feroze Jamall said " Cathay Pacific Airways is a socially responsible airline and has been vigorously working to support the flood victims in Pakistan since 2010. Not only have we airlifted more than 27 tonnes of relief goods from Vietnam, but our staffs has donated a day's salary towards the relief efforts being undertaken by various organisations. And now we have selected Karachi Relief Trust and Al Umeed Rural School Project to continue our support for the flood victims of Pakistan."-PR
