Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the state institutions are running in deficit but the government is not paying any attention to improve the state of affairs. He said this while talking to reporters after chairing the meetings of provincial co-ordination committees of Punjab and Khyber Puktunkhwa, here on Thursday.
When asked about statement of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that we hope Pakistan would leave Kashmir, Nawaz said this statement is not acceptable. Sources told Business Recorder Nawaz discussed party affairs with the members of co-ordination committees and asked them to expedite the party reorganisation process.
The Committee members apprised their party leader about their recommendations regarding party reorganisation. In the meeting, names of PML-N district presidents and secretary generals for Punjab and Khyber Puktoonkhwa were also finalised. The PML-N Chief will chair the provincial co-ordination committees meeting of Balochistan on Friday (today) and Sindh on July 2 (tomorrow).
The PML-N leader maintained that the PPP-led government has failed to control price hike and to put to an end to load shedding. Had serious efforts were made to overcome load shedding, it could have reduced today to much extent, he said. He further said there would be no need of any foreign assistance or Kerry Lugar Bill, if deficit of public sector institutions is controlled.
It may be recalled that the PML-N had announced to hold party elections in the second week of July and the meetings of provincial co-ordination committees are aimed at completing the electoral college. Moreover, PML-N senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique MNA has announced that the PML-N is going to file a petition on Friday in the Muzzaffarabad High Court seeking court directions for declaring the AJK elections illegal. He said the PPP victory in AJK polls was a result of large-scale rigging. He added that PML-N lawyers had reached AJK and would prove PPP rigging in the court.
