Raw sugar futures rose early on Friday, rebounding from an early drop on concern over the uncertain Brazil crop size; coffee fell, following the weak commodity complex. Cocoa closed higher as late-day buying fuelled a rebound from an early decline.
ICE October raw sugar futures jumped 0.84 cent, or 3.2 percent, at 27.18 cents a lb at 12:29 pm EDT (1629 GMT). ICE September arabica futures last traded down 3.50 cents, or 1.3 percent, at $2.6210 a lb. ICE September cocoa settled up $4 at $3,155 a tonne.
