Thomas Levet of France won the French Open at Le Golf National here on Sunday. Levet shot a final round of 70 for a seven-under par total of 277, one stroke clear of Thorbjorn Olesen of Denmark and Mark Foster of England.
It was 42-year-old Levet's fifth European Tour title, but the first time he has won his home Open. It ensures him of a berth in next month's British Open at Royal St George's in south-east England.
