Bulls dominated the proceedings at the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) where equities registered gains amid ascending transaction volume on Monday. The LSE-25 index moved up to 3094.15 points against 3050.21 points of last trading day, showing an increment of 43.94 points, while transaction volume significantly increased to 04.335 million shares, as compared to previous volume of 0.970 million shares.
According to brokers, the investors are taking fresh positions, as the levels are attractive and investment in selected shares can yield positive results. MCB Bank, Attock Refinery, PPL, NBP, Pak Oil Fields, Nishat Mills Limited, HBL, Lucky Cement Limited, Treet Corporation and Kot Addu Power registered gains and closed in positive column while Engro Corporation, Dawood Hercules, Arif Habib Corporation, FFC, UBL, Picic Growth Fund, PTCL and Soneri Bank suffered losses and closed in minus column.
The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 109 companies, 32 showed strength and closed in green zone, 18 suffered losses, while 59 companies stayed unchanged at their previous levels. Among the gainers, MCB Bank gained Rs 4.57, Attock Refinery was improved by Rs 3.58, PPL was appreciated by Rs 3.14, while NBP, Pak Oil Fields, Nishat Mills Limited, HBL, Lucky Cement Limited, Treet Corporation and Kot Addu Power were up by Rs 2.51, Rs 2.47, Rs 2.35, Rs 1.10, Rs 1.03, paisa-67 and paisa-51, respectively. Among the losers, Engro Corporation shed Rs 1.35, Dawood Hercules was declined by Rs 1.30, Arif Habib Corporation lost Rs 0.57, while FFC, UBL, Picic Growth Fund, PTCL and Soneri Bank were down by Rs 0.41, Rs 0.35, Rs 0.30, Rs 0.13 and Rs 0.12, respectively.
