Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said the government would support the Kashmir cause at all international fora and would use diplomatic means to highlight the issue. He said Pakistan Peoples Party is committed to continue moral, diplomatic and political support to this cause till the issue is resolved according to the wishes of Kashmiri people.
The prime minister was talking to a delegation of the Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir along with Senator Jehangir Badar, Secretary General Pakistan Peoples Party at the PM House. Gilani observed that being Chairman Kashmir Council, he would ensure that the Kashmir cause I s highlighted at all forums. He also assured the Kashmiri brethren that the government of Pakistan will continue to provide adequate resources for the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation congratulated the Prime Minister on the victory of PPP in AJK elections and appreciated his positive role in positive projection of Kashmir cause and mobilisation of party workers during the election campaign. Senator Jahangir Badar termed this victory as an expression of the confidence of Kashmiri people on the policies of Pakistan Peoples Party. The meeting was attended by Barrister Sultan Mehmood, former Prime Minister AJK, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf MNA, Qamar Zaman Kaira, MNA, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen and Chaudhry Lateef Akbar.
