Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has welcomed the decision of the Economic Co-ordination Committee of the federal cabinet to increase gas supply to KESC, and expressed hope that these decisions will be implemented as soon as possible in letter and spirit resulting in gas supply to KESC of its approved quota of 276 MMCFD.
Declaring it a pro-public move, KESC said that the ECC's decision would not only enable KESC to reduce loadshedding in Karachi but also ensure that industries and strategic customers will get 24/7 uninterrupted supply in future as well. The statement further added that loadshedding duration in Karachi would be reduced by 50 percent as soon as gas supply increases to at least 240 MMCFD.-PR
