No change was witnessed on the money market on Tuesday as the rupee firmly held the overnight levels in terms of dollar, money experts said. The rupee was unchanged versus dollar for buying and selling at 85.90 and 85.95, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: In the second Asian trade euro looked set to snap a six-day winning streak, coming off nearly one-month highs against dollar as the greenback was bought back broadly on a flurry of stop-loss buying and short-covering by macro-funds.
Some traders cited talk that US companies such as Pfizer could repatriate dollars earned overseas to take advantage of a proposed US tax break as helping to push the euro below $1.4500. Indian rupee was trading at Rs 44.43 versus dollar, Malaysian ringgit was available at 3.0055 in relation to the greenback and Chinese yuan was available at 6.4625 in terms of the US currency.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee followed the same pattern as it maintained overnight level against the US currency for buying and selling at 86.00 and 86.20 for selling, they added. Meanwhile the rupee gained 36 paisa versus euro for buying and selling at Rs 124.07 and Rs 124.57, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee stayed unchanged on buying side while it lost five-paisa on selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Tuesday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar commenced trading at its overnight closing of Rs 86.00 and Rs 86.15 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. There was no visible change in the dollar's rate during the day trading. However, at the end of trading, it was closed at Rs 86.00 and Rs 86.20 on buying and selling sides, respectively.
Similarly, the rupee showed stability and remained unchanged on buying side while it was declined on the selling side against the British pound. The pound was purchased and sold at Rs 138.00 and Rs 139.00 as compared to Monday closing of Rs 138.00 and Rs 138.60 respectively, the dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The value of dollar against rupee remained unchanged at the currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.20 (selling) against same overnight values. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.20 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 138.40 (buying) and Rs 138.50 (selling) against same overnight values. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 138.40 (buying) and Rs 138.50 (selling).
