Pak World Trade & Expo Centre will organise "2nd Made in Pakistan Exhibition 2011" in Katmandu (Nepal) to promote and introduce Pakistani products in the region. The single country trade exhibition titled "2nd Made in Pakistan Exhibition 2011" will be held in United World Trade Centre Katmandu (Nepal) with the help of Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal and Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad from July 19 to 25, 2011.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Chief Executive Pak World Trade & Expo Centre M. Khurshid Barlas said that the exhibition would encourage strengthening economy and trading relations for deeper integration in the region. "We are confident that the exhibition will provide a forum for interaction between the business of the two countries and it will also encourage the Nepal businessmen to organise similar trade exhibition like "Made in Nepal" in Pakistan," he added.
Chairman Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO) Pakistan Hameedullah Jan Afridi said that trade and commerce was lifeline for every country. Due to its significant geographical location, Pakistan has tremendous potential for the SAARC countries to explore new avenues of trade and commerce. Afridi further said that Pakistan and Nepal has long-lasting cordial friendly relations and people of both countries have great sentiments of mutual respect. "We can get benefit from this relation by promoting trade and social interaction for economic betterment," Afridi added.
"Economic activities are imperative to overcome the financial crunch being faced by Pakistan and the business community is backbone for generating employment and opportunities of trade within and outside the country," he added. He further said that IPO was playing a vital role to provide a level playing field for promotion of business activities and special initiatives had been adopted to safeguard the IPRs of all individual. IPO have started establishing "IPO Facilitation Desks" in chambers of commerce and industries and also creating awareness among the masses about IPO, he added.
D. P. Bhandhari Deputy Chief of Mission Nepal said that such trade exhibition should be made a regular feature. Trade exhibitions were the best way to encourage trade and economy in the region, he added. He further said that trade between the two countries was not too much, but such exhibition would increase it to a significant level.
Kashif Shabbir, Ex President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tausif Zamkan, Senior Vice President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, Hameed Akhgtar Chadda, Chairman Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Amir Gulistan Janjua also address on the occasion.
