Anti-Terrorism Court-I Karachi on Wednesday directed Provincial Police Officer, Sindh, to ensure attendance of DIG Sultan Khawaja, who was appointed as Investigation Officer in youth's killing case, on each hearing without fail. Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso also recorded statement of two prosecution witnesses and adjourned hearing till July 7, 2011.
Accused Sub-Inspector Bah-ur-Rehman, Lance Naik Liaquat Ali, constables Mohammad Tariq, Manthar Ali, Shahid Zafar and Mohammad Afzal and private contractor Afsar Khan are charged with murder of 22-year-old Sarfaraz Shah on June 8, 2011. According to prosecution, accused personnel twice shot at unarmed Shah, then left him to die.
Judge Bashir Khoso observed IO DIG Sultan Khawaja was not attending court for last three days as such it is misconduct on his part. He directed PPO Sindh to direct above mentioned IO to attend court on each and every date of hearing without fail. Hearing was adjourned till July 7, 2011.
