Provincial Minister for Food Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor paid surprise visits to Ghazipur, Bahadarpur and Jalalpur Pirwala centres of Multan Division and expressed his dissatisfaction over performance of the staff present there. He personally checked the record of these three centres and directed Secretary Food Irfan Elahi to immediately check the record of the stock of wheat centres throughout the Punjab and submit report within three days.
He directed that if any officer or official is found involved in embezzlement of wheat or any negligence should immediately be terminated from service. Secretary Food issued instructions to all districts to check the record of wheat storage centres and inform the Directorate immediately in writing.
