The electricity production continues to fluctuate as it dipped by 1,000 MW widening the gap between generation and demand to 4,729 MW on Wednesday. According to a PEPCO spokesman, the total generation of its hydel, thermal, IPPs and RPPs has come down to 13,158 MW against 14,000 MW plus a day earlier.
The electricity generation of hydel power units at Tarbela, Mangla, Ghazi Barotha, Chashma, Warsak, etc fell from 5,600 MW to 5,000 MW and IPPS also suffered a loss of 5,00 MW as theiir production fell to 6,204 M The countrywide demand remained 17,887 MW against the generation of 13,158 MW out of which PEPCO supplied 710 MW electricity to KESC. Meanwhile people continue to protest against long loadshedding hours in the country, which is forcing the industrialists to close down their units to avoid recurring financial losses.
