The Karachi Port handled 82,949 tonnes of cargo including 61,919 tonnes of import cargo, 21,030 tonnes of export cargo and 3,621 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 61,919 tonnes comprised of 19,002 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,302 tonnes of general cargo; 3,727 tonnes of bulk cargo and 35,888 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,030 tonnes comprised of 16,404 tonnes of containerised cargo; 98 tonnes of general cargo; 4,528 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,030 tonnes of cement; 2,032 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 629 tonnes of flour and 837 tonnes of rice. Five ships namely UACC Sound, Hyundai General, APL Agate, Ital Ottima and Nizar-M carrying oil tanker, three container ships and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Bravo, Manila Express, Hong Peng, Noble Coral, Tabernacle Prince and MT Lahore carrying two container ships, two general cargo ships, bulk cargo ship and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Hong Peng and Noble Coral carrying two general cargo ships respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Manila Express and MT Lahore with container ship and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz Pacific Ruby, Usma, Praia and Iron Butterfly with jet oil tanker, naphtha carrier, container ship and project cargo ship due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz Neelambari, Emirates Kanako, Lavender, APL Sharjah, Hanjin Paris and Freedom carrying chemicals carrier, four container ships and vehicles carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
