Syria's state purchasing agency has issued an international tender to buy and import 100,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat, European traders said on Thursday. Bidding deadline was July 25. It is the largest wheat import tender reported from Syria since at least September 2010. Shipment was requested two months following the opening of a letter of intent for the purchase.
Offers were requested in euros and the wheat should have at least 11.5 percent protein content. Origin was optional.
